We're very lucky to be in a part of the country where there is always a festival or an exhibition either happening or just around the corner and there are plenty of local events to enjoy. Here's what's going on in the area in the coming months:

Friday 7th to Sunday 9th June - BISHOP'S CASTLE OPEN STUDIOS - A weekend of artist's Open Studios and artisan shops in and around the town of Bishop's Castle with 42 artists exhibiting and 19 local shops. Open 10am to 5pm each day, free entry. https://www.bcopenstudios.co.uk/

Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd June - CHURCH STRETTON WALKING FESTIVAL - Wide variety of walks available, including stargazing, photography and Geology walks, challenges and leisurely strolls: https://churchstrettonwalkingfestival.co.uk.

Friday 12th & Saturday 13th July - BISHOP'S CASTLE REAL ALE TRAIL - Based in and around the town's six historic pubs and two real ale breweries. Features a huge variety of beers and ciders from Shropshire and the surrounding borders, plus live music across the town.

Sunday 21st July - LUDLOW DOG DAY - A family fun day centered around dogs in the grounds of Stokesay Court, with many attractions to keep everyone delighted and lots of ‘doggy’ stuff throughout the whole day. https://www.ludlowdogday.org.uk/

Saturday 27th July to Sunday 4th August - CLUN CARNIVAL WEEK - Several events throughout the week including a procession with marchers, carnival floats and historic vehicles.

Sunday 3rd to Sunday 18th August - CHURCH STRETTON ARTS FESTIVAL - The 52nd consecutive festival of music and visual arts in the heart of the Shropshire Hills. https://strettonfestival.org.uk/

Sunday 11th August - LUDLOW MAGNALONGA - The Magnalonga is a food and drink walk of between 8 - 10 miles, starting at the Ludlow Food Centre. A journey where you combine a walk through unspoilt countryside with some of the best food and drink from Ludlow and the Welsh Marches. http://www.magnalonga.co.uk/

Friday 13th to Sunday 15th September - LUDLOW FOOD FESTIVAL - Inside Ludlow Castle with more than 180 local food and drink producers and suppliers: real food, ale, cider, perry, wine and more from the Marches, with samples and tastings. http://www.ludlowfoodfestival.co.uk/
