We're very lucky to be in a part of the country where there is always a festival or an exhibition either happening or just around the corner and there are plenty of local events to enjoy. Here's what's going on in the area in the coming months:

Friday 8th & Saturday 9th June - WALCOT HALL OPERA - The annual opera performed by Opera a la Carte returns to the Ballroom for the 14th year running with a captivating performance of Rigoletto. (01588) 680570 www.walcothall.com

Sunday 10th June - STOKESAY COURT RHODODENDRONS OPEN GARDEN - A chance to enjoy the magnificent rhododendrons and walk through the grounds and gardens of Stokesay Court. https://stokesaycourt.com/whats-on/

Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th June - CHURCH STRETTON WALKING FESTIVAL. Guided walks in the heart of the Shropshire Hills, led by local walks leaders. Includes the Mynd Drover Challenge Walk, a 26 mile sponsored walk on 24th June. http://www.churchstrettonwalkingfestival.co.uk/

Saturday  30th June to Sunday 1st July - SHOBDON FOOD & FLYING FESTIVAL. Set in north Herefordshire a host of aviation attractions alongside over seventy food and drink producers, live music, arts & crafts. http://www.shobdonfoodandflyingfestival.co.uk/

Saturday 7th July - SHROPSHIRE HILLS HAY MEADOW FESTIVAL - A celebration of local wildflower meadows and their wealth of wildlife. There's a packed programme of activities planned. Friday 6th & Saturday 7th July - BISHOP'S CASTLE REAL ALE TRAIL - Based in and around the town’s six historic pubs and two real ale breweries. A huge variety of beers and ciders from Shropshire and the surrounding borders are represented as well as a great selection from the rest of the UK. Live music across the town on both the Friday and Saturday.

Sunday 22nd July - LUDLOW DOG DAY - A family fun day centered around dogs in the grounds of Stokesay Court, with many attractions to keep everyone delighted and lots of ‘doggy’ stuff throughout the whole day. https://stokesaycourt.com/whats-on/

Sunday 12th August - LUDLOW MAGNALONGA - The Magnalonga is a food and drink walk of between 8 - 10 miles, starting at the Ludlow Food Centre. Saturday 15th September - OPEN AIR SCREENING OF 'ATONEMENT' - In the grounds of Stokesay Court, this truly is a unique opportunity to watch a fantastic film in the film setting itself.
