AA Covid Confident by Rated Trips

We have been awarded the AA's 'COVID-19 Confident' certification, which means that we have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, we have a Risk Assessment in place and a process to ensure we are COVID-safe. We will continue to operate within the scheme's guidelines for as long as it continues.

If you have any questions regarding our COVID procedures, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01547 530836 or email hello@theschoolhousebandb.co.uk.

Deciding whether to book a stay

If you are undecided as to whether to book a stay with us, we hope that these notes will help:

  • It is possible to stay at The School House without coming into contact with other guests. The three guest rooms are in separate areas of the house and our downstairs Redlake room has its own private entrance.

  • If ordered in advance, we are able to offer ‘bedroom picnics’ for you to enjoy in the evening if you would prefer not to eat out.

  • More space has been made in the breakfast room so there is plenty of distance between tables.

  • We will endeavour to stagger breakfast times to enable better social distancing.

  • We carry out thorough cleaning of all rooms and will continue to quarantine some items between guest stays to minimise any risk of transmission.

  • Hand sanitiser will continue to be available for guest use in the hall and breakfast room.

  • We open doors & windows throughout the property whenever possible to ensure good ventilation.

During your stay

  • As a result of changes made in response to the pandemic, we have revised our breakfast offering as follows:

    • Breakfast buffet items e.g. cereals and yoghurt will be provided as individual portions and served to your table, rather than on a buffet table.

    • Milk, juice, jams and condiments will be served in individual containers on your table.

    • We have three separate toasters (one per guest room) in the Breakfast Room.

  • We have revised our housekeeping procedures – we will replace dirty cups etc… and remove rubbish, but we will only service your room if you want us to, or if you are staying for more than 3 nights.

  • Although mask-wearing is no longer a requirement in England, please ask if you would prefer us to wear one.

Cancellation and Curtailment

We take a one night's deposit at the time of booking but we aim to be as flexible as possible should you need to cancel or defer your stay as a result of COVID. Please refer to our Guest Information page for full details of our current cancellation policy.

As per our standard Terms and Conditions, we always advise that you take out travel insurance if you are concerned that you may need to cancel.

We look forward to welcoming you safely to The School House B&B.
